Baptism

Baptism

A Public Declaration of Your Faith in Jesus Christ

Baptism is an important step of obedience for every believer who has placed their faith in Jesus Christ. It is a public declaration of an inward transformation—a testimony that you have accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior and have chosen to follow Him.

At Jeevan Jal Church, we believe that baptism symbolizes the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It represents leaving behind the old life and embracing a new life in Christ.

What Is Baptism?

Baptism is an outward expression of an inward faith. While baptism itself does not save a person, it is a biblical act of obedience that demonstrates a believer’s commitment to Jesus Christ.

Through baptism, believers publicly identify themselves with Christ and share their testimony of God’s transforming work in their lives.

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” – 2 Corinthians 5:17

Why Should I Be Baptized?

Jesus Himself was baptized and instructed His followers to be baptized.

Baptism is:

An act of obedience to Jesus Christ

A public declaration of faith

A symbol of spiritual transformation

A testimony to family, friends, and the church

A celebration of new life in Christ

A step toward spiritual growth and discipleship

Who Can Be Baptized?

Baptism is for anyone who has personally accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and desires to follow Him wholeheartedly.

Whether you are a new believer or have been following Christ for some time and have not yet been baptized, we encourage you to take this important step of faith.

What Happens During Baptism?

During the baptism service, candidates are given the opportunity to publicly share their faith and be baptized in water as a testimony of God’s work in their lives.

It is a joyful celebration where family, friends, and the church family come together to witness and celebrate this special milestone.

Preparing for Baptism

Before baptism, candidates may participate in a baptism orientation session where they will learn:

The biblical meaning of baptism

Why baptism is important

What to expect during the service

How to continue growing in faith after baptism

Our pastors and ministry leaders are available to answer questions and guide you through the process.
